2010 Rolling Roadshow Movie Posters: Rocky, Jackie Brown, Robocop, more!

2010 Rolling Roadshow Movie Posters: Rocky, Jackie Brown, Robocop, more!

Came across these posters over at ROS and I had to post them here.  (Its obvious I think Brad does a great job, BTW.)  This set of minimalist re-imagined movie posters are for the 2010 Rolling Roadshow, created by artist Olly Moss.  About the Roadshow:

Inspired by the spirit of the American worker, the Alamo Drafthouse and Levi’s® have curated an eclectic line up that ranges from the the birth of the oil nation in Paul Thomas Anderson’s THERE WILL BE BLOOD to the futuristic corporate nightmare of Paul Verhoven’s ROBOCOP. Championship contenders are crowned and humbled as Sylvester Stallone embarks on an an epic ROCKY-THON on the Liberty Steps, while Marlon Brando is washed-up ON THE WATERFRONT of the New Jersey docks. Law breakers are saluted as DIRTY HARRY takes to San Francisco’s Washington Square Park, Quentin Tarantino with JACKIE BROWN (schedule permitting), and Chicago’s finest, THE BLUES BROTHERS tear their musical mission from God across the country. Closing out the Roadshow is the the defining immigrant worker story of THE GODFATHER: PART II which will screen from the rooftops and chimney stacks of New York’s Little Italy.

The 2010 Rolling Roadshow kicks off in this Friday at Torrance, CA’s Del Amo Fashion Mall, where Quentin Tarantino and Robert Forster are expected to be on hand as they show Jackie Brown.  I might go check this out, depending on how far I care to travel.  Being that it is a “rolling” show, you can check it out if it comes near your town.  For more info, you can check the video below, as well as the official website.

I think you’ll enjoy some of these movie posters, which you can find a plethora of (we’ve seen things like this before) in our Movie Posters category of course.  So as not to double post everything, I gave you 7 of the nine they have up.  Enjoy and let me know what your favorite interpretations are.  You have to love There Will Be Blood’s cross usage.

New Comic-Con Thor & Captain America Movie Posters

New Comic-Con Thor & Captain America Movie Posters

It’s Comic-Con time in San Diego which means tons of movie stuff, particularly of the comic book and superhero nature.  Make sense?  It should.  Below are two looks at some of next years most anticipated films in Captain America: The First Avenger and Thor.  Both films are Marvel properties under the Paramount banner.

While I still continue to think Thor doesn’t look so hot, I do think Captain America in particular has some good potential.  These movie posters or banners I guess, don’t do anything to diminish that one way or another.  Thanks to Yahoo Movies for the drops and feel free to share your thoughts on what you see, if they are of interest to you, or not.

I kick it off with a bang with four new Machete one sheets, had a few others last week.  Then there are four Red movie posters, a Piranha 3D poster and Howl, the new James Franco film.  We have the trailer up under our trailers heading too.  Same goes for M.Night Shyamalan’s Devil.  Trailer looks pretty good, but thats not saying much.  Ready, Set, Bag and The Girl Who Kicked The Hornets Nest are next.  Freakonomics, Tales from Earthsea, Smash His Camera, and three character posters follow for Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole. I round it out with I Spit On Your Grave which stars Odette Yustman, who was also in The Unborn and you can look at the poster here. See any similarities?  Study closely.  Enjoy your weekend and thanks to IMPAwards for the help.
