Movie Poster Round-Up: ‘Let Me In’, ‘Green Zone’, ‘Defendor’, ‘Kick-Ass’, more!

This week in our Movie Poster Round-Up we have some new teaser posters and of course, the best in one-sheets from around the globe (web).  We also have the teaser poster for the Let The Right One In remake, Let Me In.  A new one sheet for How To Train Your Dragon 3-D is next.  Which reminds me that “when I let the monster out, you are going to do what it wants.”  Name that movie quote if you can, no cheating.  Paul Bettany and Jennifer Connelly star in Creation.  Who knew?  Tell Tale stars Josh Lucas and has a pretty cool poster. Who really knew?  Fashion designer Tom Ford enters the directors chair for his new movie A Single Man; we give you that one-sheet.  I like the simplicity of that one.

One of The Men Who Stare at Goats‘ character one sheets is here. I have no heart to give you the rest for sake of repetition.  Speaking of character posters, here are the first four for the upcoming comic tale Kick-Ass. The Mammoth one sheet for Michelle Williams and GGBernal’s pic is up next.  Matt Damon’s Green Zone, aka Bourne 4 has its first poster.  It’s Complicated, but this poster isn’t.  The Heavy Metal themed Until The Light Takes Us is a dark, interesting poster of sorts.  Woody Harrelson’s indie fave Defendor follows.  I figured I would give this interesting Capitalism: A Love Story international poster to you, since it has a comic (or not) angle to it. Thanks to sources GATW, IMPAwards and IGN.  Enjoy the weekend.

Movie Poster Round-Up: ‘Percy Jackson’, ‘Kill Everyone’, ‘Sherlock Holmes’, & more!

Here is the latest installment of our world famous Movie Poster Round-Up featuring the best film one-sheets from around the web.  Like MC Hammer said back in the day, “let’s get it started.”  A new Sherlock Holmes poster kicks things off.  Thematically, it keeps it the same as the others we’ve seen.  How To Train Your Dragon 3-D comes next.  Last Day of Summer (DJ Qualls) and Women In Trouble (Adrianne Palicki) lead our next one sheets.  Kill Everyone (who doesn’t want to every now and again?) and Tapestries of Hope indie posters follow.

The horror flick The Fourth Kind and the comedy Old Dogs give this post some international flavor with their foreign posters.  Anyone seeing the alien abduction flick this weekend?  The indie Eichmann and the vampire comedy V.A.M.L. follow.  I spot lipstick and axes.  We are a little light in the pants this week (have we reached the point where 14 posters is light?) so we give you 4 character posters for Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief to round out the post.  Get fired up for the President’s Day showing of that film!  I jest. Nothing super exciting this week, but that’s the way it goes sometimes.  Thanks to IMPAwards for the drops and enjoy your weekend.

Movie Poster Round-Up: ‘Invictus’, ‘Uncertainty’, ‘The Spy Next Door’, ‘The Fourth Kind’, more!

This really is about the slowest week for domestic movie posters we have seen in months.  There simply isn’t that much new to show you.  Only 11 total.  There are a fair amount of international posters or one sheets for movies that have already dropped, but I don’t have the heart to post and show most of them to you.  I give you the smallest of samples however, right off the bat.  However, since it’s Friday and we always round up the best for you that there is on this day each week, well, here you go.

That sample I referenced? A Zombieland survival rule poster followed by an international Whip It one sheet.  There is a huge difference between the Whip It int’l and domestic for those that have followed this column regularly.  We do debut posters for Everybody’s Fine with the very fine indeed, Kate Beckinsale and Uncertainty, the latest Joseph Gordon-Levitt vehicle (500 Days of Summer).  The indies Turning Green and Collapse follow with one-sheets.

We give you the second posters for the comedy Youth In Revolt and horror film The Fourth Kind.  And you thought Close Encounters of the Third Kind was scary. Trip.  A final poster for The Road drops, moving due next month, and poster debuts for the “how far have I fallen movie” (Jackie Chan-led) The Spy Next Door and the Oscar hopeful Invictus round it all out.  Thanks to IMP Awards as always.  Enjoy your weekend at the movies.

Movie Poster Round-Up: ‘Broken Embraces’, ‘Edge of Darkness’, ‘Dear John’, tons more!

“Every day a star is born, clap for ‘em”- so goes the chorus in a new Jay-Z track.  Every week, new Movie Posters come our way, clap for us.  Its Friday, so here are the latest one sheets from around the web, courtesy of IMP Awards and Live For Films.  This is a very large round-up, one of the bigger we’ve had, but enough splitting hairs, right?  We have a few international one sheets for you this week, so I will give you those first.  They include a new Korean New Moon poster The Twilight Saga’s New Moon seems long these days; a Vanquisher poster for the Thai actioner, a UK one sheet for The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, a Planet 51 int’l poster, and the first poster for Penelope Cruz’s Broken Embraces.  That last one happens to be an American poster for the Spanish film.

Two new Toy Story 3 posters come, followed by a pair of new Saw VI posters.  Saw 7 is already in the works too.  Yay!  By yay, I mean, boo.  Like when DMC said “not bad meaning bad, but bad meaning good.”  The indie Defamation comes next, then the original poster for that “Chuck” actresses new movie, The Canyon.  The second one sheet for Did You Hear About The Morgans? fails to excite.  The new poster for Meryl Streep’s fall film It’s Complicated is slightly better.  The premier poster for Mel Gibson’s Edge of Darkness is better still.

We have a teaser for Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief. Painfully easy to fit on a marquee.  A new poster for The Princess and the Frog appears as well. The new Daybreakers poster follows that.  It has a Pandorum like feel to me for some reason.  As we near the close, the one sheet for Me and Orson Welles appears.  The “Me” does not reference me, sadly, for my legions of fans. The first poster for Channing Tatum and Amanda Seyfried’s Dear John rounds it all out.  Enjoy the weekend at the movies!

Movie Poster Round-Up: ‘The Lovely Bones’, ‘Boondock Saints II’, ‘Toy Story 3′, more!

It’s Friday, our weekly Original Movie Poster Round-Up is back on that a$$ with a gangster lean. Okay, it’s just back because it is always here on a weekly basis.  It is a lighter week for posters too.  This week we give you the finest in one-sheets to hit the web, among those is the final one-sheet for Women In Trouble (lingerie style).  That’s a sexy poster, no?  We have the Into The Darkness one sheet as well.  Props to FoF for that.  You wanted the sequel to Boondock Saints; well now we have the poster for Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day. It’s actually pretty decent art.  Isn’t it A Beautiful Life?

Do you think that Alfred Molina will be remembered more for his role in The Little Traitor or Spider-Man 2?  Curious.  Meg Ryan returns to the big screen in Serious Moonlight – as opposed to “comedic moonlight.” Peter Jackson’s The Lovely Bones poster makes its debut this week, as does a trio of new Toy Story 3 posters.  Finally, the fact that there isn’t more for you this week might make us eat some Humble Pie.  Might.  We end it with three new The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus posters, there are more to see elsewhere, but these are the three stars of the film, Ledger, Farrell and Depp, in French no less.  Thanks to IMPAwards for the hits.  Enjoy the weekend folks!

Movie Poster Round-Up: ‘New Moon’, ‘Bad Lieutenant’, ‘Dare’, more!

Some more movie poster goodness comes your way in our weekly round-up.  The Jason Statham starring The Mechanic promo poster kicks things off this week.  You can also see the new one sheet for Michael Moore’s Capitalism: A Love Story. Continuing along similar sort of lines we give you Ten9Eight poster. And since you wanted them, here are two new Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans posters for you, featuring Nic Cage and Eva Mendes.  I am also hoping that what follows is the last poster for Planet 51 that we give you, but I suspect it might be wishful thinking.

I actually think that the new movie trailer for Dare looks pretty decent.  The poster, however, is merely average.  That is followed by a new one sheet for The Fantastic Mr. Fox. We also have the Zero one sheet, a UK-Quad for Ong Bak 2 and The Crazies promo poster.  On the foreign/documentary tip, we have posters for The Messenger, Killing Kastzner, and As Seen Through Their Eyes.  Their, being babies, I believe.  But what you have all been waiting for comes next. The biggest one-sheets for the week likely belong to The Twilight Saga’s New Moon.  We have three new posters for that highly anticipated film.  Thanks to IMPAwards and Live For Films for the hits.

Some Movie Poster Mash-Ups: ‘Star Wars’, ‘Batman’, ‘Harry Potter’, more!

Since it’s Friday and Movie Posters are prevalent on this site on each week’s end, I figured I would hit you all with a few of the creative things people are doing as film fans/Photoshop wizards.  These sorts of things are probably in abundance on the ‘net for those willing to do the searching, but since I like sharing I decided I would give you a few that I came across over at i09. There are a few more there if interested. Many of these are Star Wars related (shocker!) which you can find mashed up with The Wizard of Oz, A Clockwork Orange, For Your Eyes Only, and Full Metal Jacket.  There is a They Live and Love Actually mash in the mix too. I think the Batman / Dracula one is pretty cool and the E.T. and Alien mash is kinda nice as well. We round it out with the Harry Potter and Indiana Jones mash for all you HP fans out there. Hope you enjoy them.

Movie Poster Round-Up: ‘Blind Date’, ‘Tooth Fairy’, ‘Ninja Assassin’, ‘Dread’, more!

This week’s original Movie Poster Round-Up includes the usual goodness you have come to expect from these Friday endeavors.  Heeeeerrrreeee we go! First up is Blind Date starring Stanley Tucci, a  guy I have always liked for what it’s worth (tons I am sure).  That is followed by the one sheet for Joel Schumacker’s latest effort, Blood Creek.  We then have a triple play of new posters for Carla Gugino’s Women In Trouble, none of which match the original IMO.  That triplicate is followed by The Providence Effect and The Yes Men Fix The World, which smacks of Kabluey’s outfit for the uninitiated.  There is a The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus quad here as well.

I can see giving Into Temptation if that girl on the poster is offering me something.  For you who want an alternative, I give you The Maid.  Suckers!  At least your place should be clean.  The teaser poster for Dwayne The Rock Johnson’s Tooth Fairy has arrived.  It’s about damn time, I might add.  Then there is the Korean poster for Ninja Assassin.  Aren’t all ninjas assassins?  Is that a redundant title?  Perhaps not.  In the animated dept, we hit you with the new Planet 51 one sheet and also give you a foreign Princess and the Frog poster.  Stellar material.  A new The House of the Devil one sheet emerges as well. Help! More scares for the new one sheet for The Fourth Kind, which seems like a Fire in the Sky remake. Last but not least, from the mind of Clive Barker comes Dread.  Props to IMPAwards , GATW and Live for Films for the drops.

‘The Fantastic Mr. Fox’ Character Banners

Character banners is code for posters we missed in our weekly round-up in this case.  Or, more specifically, posters that we found out about right after we posted our Movie Poster Round-Up post.  Nevertheless, they probably would merit inclusion in such a post, but because that is such a stacked post, and there are a lot of these banners, I decided to give you another post just with The Fantastic Mr. Fox character banners.  Generous, I know.  Here, courtesy of GATW I present to you said banners.  Enjoy your weekend!

Movie Poster Round-Up: ‘The Blind Side’, ‘Takers’, ‘Paranormal Activity’, more!

This week’s OMPRU (Original Movie Poster Round-Up) features too many posters to sit here and waste your time with some long intro to the post.  So lets get on with it!  (Please note: we have trailers for nearly all of these movies up on the site as well).  Actor Thomas Jane makes his directorial debut with Dark Country.  That poster is here.  We also have the new poster for the new Hugh Grant rom-com Did You Hear About The Morgans? Great title too!  The ‘net is abuzz over Paranormal Activity, something I cannot get down with myself.  The new one sheet for The Men Who Stare At Goats is here as well as the final poster for Disney’s Jim Carrey film A Christmas Carol.

Bilinguals will rejoice for The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus poster.  The Saw 6 poster barrage continues with an evil contraption featured on the latest one sheet.  I really love the house photo’d for the Visual Acoustics one sheet.  Stunning architecture.  We also have four new Where The Wild Things Are character posters and an IMAX banner poster for you.  I hope the film matches my anticipation.  Flo-Rida asks you to Get Low with Robert Duvall and Bill Murray in that film’s one-sheet.

Teri Polo leads the way in The Hole 3-D, the poster of which we have here.  We giveth but do not taketh away the (actually, pretty cool) straight forward new Takers poster.  The same goes for Sandra Bullock’s Michael Oher story, The Blind Side.  Finally, we drop one of our most anticipated on you with the one sheet for Transylmania.  Who’s got the review on this?  IMP provided most of these lovely visuals for you this week.
