Star Studded ‘Blood Ties’ Trailer with Retro Looking Movie Poster Looks Good
Finally there is another movie to possibly get excited about (yet sadly, a quick glance at IMDB says otherwise..hmm). Blood Ties, from co-writer James Gray (Two Lovers) and directed by Guillaume Canet making his English language debut. The film is set in 70′s Brooklyn with a look and feel that based on the trailer and poster below, feels spot on. A brief desciption of the film:
Two brothers, on either side of the law, face off over organized crime in Brooklyn during the 1970s.
Those two brothers are played by Clive Owen and Billy Crudup (still wondering why he doesn’t get more roles). One’s a cop (Crudup) and one is a criminal, who may or may not be trying to change. Kunis and Cotillard star as love interests (solid choices at that). Have a look for yourself.
The Movie Poster and Trailer For Nicolas Winding Refn’s ‘Only God Forgives’ Debuts
Only God Forgives might not have been on the radar quite as much as it deserved prior to this unveiling, but now after having seen the cool poster (below) and trailer (also below) for the Ryan Gosling led feature, all that will change accordingly. The team has re-upped their partnership after the success of the ultra cool Drive (2011) and you can already kind of envision a potential muse-like partnership akin to Leo DiCaprio and Martin Scorcese taking place here. This film looks to be a bloody good time, but I won’t ruin it for you, I’ll let you decide for yourself. Have a look and feel free to chime in with your thoughts.
New ‘Iron Man 3′ Super Bowl Commercial Teaser & Movie Poster Arrive
Just days away from Super Bowl Sunday, where ticket sales are lagging for the actual game, but where appetites are always high for the notorious commercials that air on the big day, particularly during the game itself. Marvel has let loose an Iron Man 3 poster and teaser video for what we should see from the long-form commercial. Though the spot is literally only 12 seconds long, we get a glimpse of additional plot information as well as Don Cheadle in full body armor and different angled shots of the carnage unleashed by Ben Kingsley’s Mandarin villain. Couple the teaser with the poster, which shows Iron Man falling upside down to an unknown fate and we have some added intrigue leading up to Sunday’s larger reveal and of course May’s ultimate revealing when the film arrives. Check it out and let us know what you think. Enjoy!
New One Sheet Debuts: ‘The Last Exorcism Part II’ Movie Poster From Eli Roth
Not sure if this is a poster for Extreme Power Yoga or a person in need of an exorcism, but in this case, the one sheet for the sequel to 2010′s The Last Exorcism seems to combine a bit of both. The image is either frightening or funny or a bit of both as well. The film is set to arrive in theaters on March 1st, opposite director Park Cah-Wook’s English language debut film Stoker. I’d much rather see that. Here is the official synopsis for The Last Exorcism Part 2 and the movie poster art is below. Enjoy.
Continuing where the first film left off, Nell Sweetzer (Ashley Bell) is found alone and terrified in the woods. Back in the relative safety of civilization, Nell realizes that she can’t remember entire portions of the previous months only that she is the last surviving member of her family. Just as Nell begins the difficult process of starting a new life, the evil force that once possessed her is back with other, unimaginably horrific plans that mean her last exorcism was just the beginning.
New One Sheets: ‘Zero Dark Thirty’ Movie Posters, Film Opens This Week
The holiday movie season is about to be in full swing. That means awards contending films galore shoehorned to release to the public in the last 10 days of the year. Films like Django Unchained, Les Miserables and Zero Dark Thirty, featured here, are all dropping by Christmas day. These Zero Dark Thirty posters take subtle but slightly varied tactics to sell the film. The posters show that the movie is about the event, the manhunt for Osama Bin Laden, and not about star power. The semi-strange title of the film is featured prominently in every instance. Enjoy the film this movie weekend, if you can and enjoy the poster film art below. Thanks to IMPAwards for the drops.
Hugh Jackman Silhouette as Wolverine In New Motion Poster For ‘Wolverine’
A new motion poster of Wolverine has debuted from 20th Century Fox. The non traditional one sheet shows Jackman as Wolverine, kneeling on a Japanese rooftop, with the Japan backdrop in the background. The loop appears to be about 12 seconds or so, which is pretty cool, because in addition to the rain that falls, the lighting (and lightning) that hits his body and sword are nice. The signs in Japan take time to light up as well, there is a lot of cool subtlety in this image. A job well done by Marvel here. What do you think, do you concur? Let us know and enjoy your movie weekend.
New One Sheet: The Tom Cruise Led ‘Oblivion’ Movie Poster Looks Cool
Tom Cruise is starring in the Star Wars VII writer Michael Arndt penned film, Oblivion, set for release next summer. Take a look at the film art for the movie below. Also, you can read the synopsis for the movie. This one sheet is pretty sweet, I will say that. Enjoy your movie weekend!
Tom Cruise stars in Oblivion, an original and groundbreaking cinematic event from the director of TRON: Legacy and the producer of Rise of the Planet of the Apes. On a spectacular future Earth that has evolved beyond recognition, one man’s confrontation with the past will lead him on a journey of redemption and discovery as he battles to save mankind.
Jack Harper (Cruise) is one of the last few drone repairmen stationed on Earth. Part of a massive operation to extract vital resources after decades of war with a terrifying threat known as the Scavs, Jack’s mission is nearly complete.
Living in and patrolling the breathtaking skies from thousands of feet above, his soaring existence is brought crashing down when he rescues a beautiful stranger from a downed spacecraft. Her arrival triggers a chain of events that forces him to question everything he knows and puts the fate of humanity in his hands.
Oblivion was shot in stunning digital 4K resolution on location across the United States and Iceland.
New Movie Poster: Star Trek Into Darkness One Sheet
We did a list of the Best Star Trek films ever made a few years ago. I did not participate in this list, for a reason. The upcoming sequel in the new Star Treksaga is set to release on May 17th of next year. Now, we get our first look at the new movie poster for the film. The film is titled Star Trek Into Darkness and the cast and crew will return, with Chris Pine in the lead as Captain Kirk. Spock and the others will presumably be back as well. In truth, I am not a Star Trek fan at all. I haven’t seen the most recent entry into the film series and haven’t seen any of the films ever made that I can remember. I watched Trek a little as a kid, but thats about as far as I can recall. So, years of non-interest have removed me from the equation. Nevertheless, have a look at the relatively cool looking new teaser poster. I think its done well, for what its worth. Enjoy.
One Sheets for Brad Pitt’s ‘Killing Them Softly’ Do The Opposite
Brad Pitt’s independent drama where he plays a killer in Killing Them Softly releases this week. The movie is off to a reasonably strong start on RT’s tomatometer with a 78% rating from critics and a 7.1/10 average score. The artwork for the film is an interesting mix, one of the most diverse I’ve seen in a while. Strangely, many of the movie posters used to promote the film don’t even include Pitt on the one sheet. Rather, they use a mix of retro art with american themes (often) and of course, guns. Lots of guns are used. This is a little odd, because this is the type of film that tests one’s star power and you’d think the studio would desperately want the promotion.
Check out the full movie poster collection below and if you plan on having this kick off your movie weekend, let us know what you think. Enjoy. Thanks to IMPAwards for the drops.
We havent had a motion poster up on the site for a while. They were becoming ubiquitous about 18 months ago but for some reason have kind of disappeared a bit since then. Anyway, The Hunger Games sequel, part 2 of the planned 4 movie trilogy…yes, you read that right…is Catching Fire. After the mega-success of the Jennifer Lawrence-led first film (star of the stellar The Silver Linings Playbook), Catching Fire follows up on the possible love triangle taking place between her character Katniss, and two dudes whose names I can’t think of off the top of my head. I’ve never read the books, sue me. I’m like Riggs, I’m too old for this shit. Here is the movie poster for Catching Fire. A motion poster with sound that is pretty cool little teaser. Enjoy the look and have a Happy Thanksgiving.
