While we have covered The Dark Knight Rises and Christopher Nolan’s epic trilogy seemingly ad nauseum here at the site, still more info continues to roll in that is worth sharing. While, the film is still cleaning up at the box office, currently on pace to shatter $400mm in domestic receipts, for the few who haven’t seen it, you may want to skip the following info. Apparently, Bane had a cool scene cut from the film ,that would have told more about his origin and injury, etc. Here, TDKR costume designer Lindy Hemming spoke to GQ about a missing scene:
“If you look at the film, unless they’ve cut it—and I’m sure they haven’t—there’s a whole early section for Tom Hardy where he’s fighting and being taunted by people,” Hemming said. “He’s got chains on him, and he’s standing on a wooden thing while people are attacking him. And in that scene, he’s wearing a much more ragged, primitive version of the mask.”
When Hemming, who hasn’t seen the final product was informed that the scene was cut, she added:
“Well that’s an awful shame, but I suppose you have to cut things, I won’t elaborate on it too much, because it isn’t in the film, but there was another section that showed you why he had the mask and where it came from.”
Also, there is a scene with Lucious Fox dialogue direct from the script that was not in the film. You can read it here.
Intriguing stuff. Thanks to THR for the heads up.
