As you arrive here today, you may or may not, notice a few tweaks to the appearance and functionality of the site that we made. All of the changes are made with the idea of providing you easier access to our information and to make your experience here at the site as enjoyable as possible. I figured I would take the time to briefly outlines some of these changes. Yes, we will still draw you in with a photo of a tempting actress on the story shell (don’t think we aren’t thinking of you at all times!).
The most noticeable change is the moving of our famous trailer window from the top right of the page to the bottom left. In doing so, we have made it easier for you to see the Trailers in a larger viewing format right from the start, rather than having to click through or use the video size window to see it full screen (which you can still do if you so desire). We will still give you all of the latest trailers for your viewing pleasure and now you can see the latest right there in a nice good sized format upfront. Hopefully you like the change.
The other main changes are in our category navigation at the top of our page, where we have added categories for some of your (and our) favorite categories with Movie Posters and Films-U-Missed. We moved these from their traditional location on the sidebar to give them more exposure and give you easier access to them. You will still see our famous Movie Poster Round-Up every Friday and a new film you missed every other Tuesday (if you haven’t been paying attention, that ends our quiz portion. Additionally, we have moved our Lists category as a drop down under the Featured cat box. Again, these changes are to clean up some of the site’s appearance (and since we usually make our lists featured anyway).
Finally, we will be changing the way that we present News stories to you. We will link to all of the film news you want, but give you more of a recap of the bigger news stories, rather than a more of a detailed breakdown of each story (though you will still get that in some cases, too). We are gonna try this for a while and see how the response is. We want to focus more on some of the unique aspects of our site’s content and while news is important, it is ever changing and much of it based on rumor, so we are going to re-direct some of our efforts elsewhere, while still giving you all of the information you crave. Seems like a fair deal, no? We also added Classic Scenes as a link in our sidebar. This is a growing category that features video of a great scene with a little set-up/breakdown of the scene. Look out for more in this category in the future.
Bear in mind that we are not web designers, we are merely film fans who like to write, so it is going to be an ongoing process at times to give you the best site we can. It is difficult for us to deal with code, not really our thing. You wouldn’t ask a horticulturalist to be a mercanary, would you? So therefore, we ask the you continue to bear with us as we try to make this a place for you to come and stay, to frequent and tell others, and to share your enjoyment of film with us. We will continue to bring you detailed movie Reviews (of which we feel are some of the best on the ‘net, and we often get them up well in advance of others (the upcoming movies Youth In Revolt, Adventureland, The Informant, and Observe & Report are all currently in our Featured window!), film Previews on Monday and Thursday (thanks to Joe Am who has taken over those of late!), as well as all of the other great content you have been seeing here on The Film Nest. We appreciate your support and readership very much and thank you for any comments or suggestions. We shall proceed…
