Harrison Ford returns to the big screen for the first time since Indy Jones last summer, with entirely different subject matter. He plays a border patrol cop caught in the struggling lives of immigrants who come to the US hoping for a better life. But all sorts of politics, trials and tribulations interfere with that dream, leaving you to ponder what the ultimate cost of “freedom” really is. Real-life immigrant Wayne Kramer directs. Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li
Based on the wildly popular fighting video game, this film follows Kristin Kreuk’s representation of Chun Li (even though she’s not Asian) as she tracks down justice. A host of other fighters are present, and it’s unclear whether all the fights will be one-on-one or if there will be a battle royale brouhaha of sorts. I am suspecting the latter, since it is the movies after all. Alternate titles include Street Singer: Chi-town’s Finest John Legend, or not.
Jonas Brothers The 3D Concert Experience
This one clearly makes prê-teens the happiest of this week’s movies. It will be like the Jonas Brothers are right there in the theater with you! While it is not just a straight concert, there will be tons of music, behind the scenes footage, guest appearances and insight into the lives of the trio of brothers that you never knew before. “They’re virgins?” “Wow!” That doesn’t stop my niece from loving them. They seem like genuinely good kids, so to liven things up one of them needs to get caught smoking crack. It would make crack relevant again. The drug has been dormant for years.
