Collider spoke to director Michael Bay at the premiere of Friday the 13th and peppered him with a few questions about Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, and they were able to get it on video. Rather than break it down for you, I suggest you watch the video.
Bay runs the production company, Platinum Dunes, which produced the aforementioned horror remake.
I will say, I’m not Bay’s biggest fan, but nor I am vehemently against him. I respect that guy for what he does. He never fails to bring awesome visuals to the screen and I’m in full support of that. I don’t even remotely like Pearl Harbor, but that bomb-drop shot is the money! It apparently came to him in a dream, and since then I’ve done my best to mine my vague subconscious for ideas.
A lot of the respect he earned with me came in the form of his commentary on the Armageddon: Criterion Collection DVD. It’s my favorite commentary of any I’ve ever listened to. If you haven’t heard it, I suggest you throw it on. If you don’t own it, pick it up here. We need this on Blu-ray!
Here’s the trailer for Pearl Harbor, with the tight-as-hell bomb-drop shot:
