‘Green Hornet’ Not Swatted, Plus Superhero Cameo (Video)

It’s been the idea at “The Film Nest” to not try and tackle rumors. They’re very slippery and tend to get away from you. Sometimes things are presented as fact even though they’re completely unsubstantiated. Such a thing happened over the weekend, when we reported from HitFix that The Green Hornet was in danger of dying. Producter/Writer/Star Seth Rogen e-mailed HitFix to reveal the truth of the matter, that the project is anything but dead.

“‘The Green Hornet’ has many people working for it, including production designers, costume designers and many conceptual artists, office staff, etc.,” he said during our e-mail exchange back and forth. “[The studio heads] have every intention on making it, and assuming we’re able to hire a new director in the upcoming weeks, which seems like a distinct possibilty, it should still hit the release date.”

So, take that rumor-monger. Never fear, The Green Hornet will still be here.

Now that Stephen Chow is out of the director’s chair, is there anybody in particular you’re clamoring for? Aintitcool suggests James McTeigue (V for Vendetta). i actually think that’s a good call. You?

Not to be missed is this tidbit from the LA Times:

“Two different people in the industry told me that Adam Sandler has a brief but key role in the movie as a certain surprise superhero…I heard which one, too, but I don’t want to ruin it.”

Could these pictures I grabbed from a crossover episode from the 1960’s be a clue?

Since we’re on the topic of superheroes and specifically Batman and Robin, I thought I’d resurrect this gem from an earlier post.

Now what do you think? Could it be? Or would you like to speculate somebody else? I’m open to ideas.
